Movies at MacDill AFB Movie Theater 6 & 7 November
For an inexpensive night out this weekend, stop by the MacDill AFB Movie Theater this weekend. Admission for adults is $4 and only $2 for children. On Friday night at 7pm, the new Matt Damon movie “The Informant” is playing. This movie is rated R for langauge and has a run time of 108 minutes. Mark Whitacre is an Ivy League Ph.D. who was a rising star at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in the early 1990s. The bipolar hero wound up blowing the whistle on the company’s price fixing tactics and became the highest-ranked executive to ever turn whistleblower in US history. Whitacre secretly gathered hundreds of hours of video and audio tapes over several years to present to the FBI which became one of the largest price fixing cases in history. In the story — a dark comedy / thriller in director Steven Soderbergh’s hands — Whitacre’s good deed dovetails with his own major infractions and struggle with severe bipolar disorder. On Saturday at 3pm, the Sandra Bullock comedy “All About Steve” will be showing. This movie is rated PG-13 for sexual content including innuendos and has a run time of 97 minutes. When Mary is set up on a blind date with handsome cable-news cameraman Steve, Mary thinks the chemistry is undeniable – that Steve is “the one.” Steve, on the other hand, thinks Mary is crazy. Mary, who just knows she’s found her soul mate, decides to do anything and go anywhere to be with him. She begins to pursue Steve relentlessly as he crisscrosses the country, covering breaking news stories. Mary’s escalating infatuation with Steve is encouraged by the self-serving actions of news reporter Hartman Hughes, who enjoys torturing his insolent cameraman at every opportunity. On Saturday at 7pm is the horror movie “Halloween 2“. This movie is rated R for bloody violence, language, nudity, disturbing graphic images, strong brutal violence and crude sexual content and has a run time of 135 minute. A year after narrowly escaping death at the hands of Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is at the breaking point, pushed to the edge by Dr. Loomis’ revelation that she’s Michael’s sister. Little does she know, the unstoppable killer is back in Haddonfield and, driven by visions of their dead mother, he is determined to bring about a bloody family reunion.
