It’s a Wonderful Life at the Tampa Theatre 20 & 21 Dec
If you really want to treat yourself or your family to a classic Christmas movie in a grand classic theater, then the Tampa Theater in downtown Tampa has just what you are looking for. On 20 & 21 Dec at 3pm, the Jimmy Stewart classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, will be playing. With the difficult economic times this year, this movie provides a great lesson about life and how to have hope to overcome challenges in life. The film takes place in the fictional town of Bedford Falls shortly after World War II and stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve gains the attention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody who is sent to help him in his hour of need. Much of the film is told through flashbacks spanning George’s entire life and narrated by Franklin and Joseph, unseen Angels who are preparing Clarence for his mission to save George. Through these flashbacks we see all the people whose lives have been touched by George and the difference he has made to the community in which he lives. Ticket prices for the matinee are $7. There is no charge for metered parking spots along the streets in downtown Tampa on all weekends.
