Get ready to kick off the Gasparilla events in Tampa Bay by attending the Children’s Gasparilla Parade this Sat on 19 Jan. The parade runs from noon to 7:30pm. It starts at Bayshore near Bay to Bay and ends at Watrous/Orleans Aves. If you haven’t been to a parade before, you can expect huge crowds and tight parking, so arrive early and plan on using the shuttle. Bayshore and Bay to Bay is about 5 miles from the Bayshore Gate of MacDill AFB. Some people start staking out their spots for the parade on Friday night. The parade is a great fun event and more than makes up for the inconvenience of the big crowds. Get ready to catch some beads. If you don’t want to carry around a cooler, there are plenty of food vendors throughout the parade route.
