Salute our Tampa Bay Veterans by attending the Tampa Bay Veterans Day Parade. The Parade will be held Nov. 10th at 10a.m. on Hanley Road between Barry road and Paula drive. Col. Robert Thomas, Commander 6th Mobility Wing, Installation Commander MacDill A.F.B. will be the Grand Marshall with, Sgt. Bryan Luckey, U.S.Army of Tampa the Honoree.

Also there will be a parade in Ruskin along U.S. 41 from 5th avenue north to 19th Avenue. This parade is sponsored by the Ruskin Memorial VFW Post # 6287 . The parade starts at 11a.m. and will be followed with food, music and award presentation at the VFW Post located at 5120 U.S. 41 N..

Ribs ,ribs and more ribs that is how this Rib Fest is described!!! The festival held in Vinoy Park downtown St. Petersburg will benefit the All Children’s Hospital!

The festival includes ribs, food, classic auto show and a children’s entertainment area.

The festival runs this weekend November 9th through November 11th. The cost is $10 online or $15 at the gate, 12 and under are free, for more info call: 727-528-3828.

Zephyrhills will hold a Fall Autofest this weekend November 8th through November 11th.

The festival will include auto racing swap meet car and truck show and a collector car auction!

The cost is $8 on Thu & Fri and $10 on Sat & Sun.  It starts at 8am each day.

 On 8 Nov at 1030am at the MacDill AFB Theater, the Marines of US Special Operations Command will host a cake cutting ceremony in honor of the 232rd Birthday of the Marine Corps.  The ceremony will include the posting of the colors and the playing of the National Anthem, the traditional reading of General Lejeune’s Birthday Message, and the presentation of the Birthday Cake to the youngest and oldest Marine.  After the ceremony, the audience is invited to join Marines for cake and refreshments.

Kevin Costner and his band Modern West will perform at Straub Park across from Vinoy Park in downtown St. Pete on Thursday 8 Nov at 6:30pm as part of a Tampa Bays Devils Ray celebration of its new name, uniform, colors and logo. After the concert at 8pm will be a fireworks display. Admission is free.

“The Earth is my Mother” and “Its’s Not Easy Being Green”, is being presented by the TECO Gallery of Children’s Art, located at 1002 E. Palm Ave., Ybor City.

The Gallery is hanging on trash on the walls , hoping to encourage energy conservation.

Seventh-graders from Academy Prep in east Tampa used light bulbs, extension cords, fly swatters and empty tin cans to make puppets and marionettes in “The Earth is My Mother” exhibit. For the “It’s Not Easy Being Green” portion of the exhibit children from the Police Athletic Leagues summer camp and disabled adults from Pyramid, used mixed media on muslin dolls to create”green people” to foster the theme it is not easy being green or different!!

The exhibit will run from now thru mid-February; 8a.m to 5p.m Monday to Friday, this is a free event!!!

The Lowe’s in Brandon doesn’t offer this discount.

The Ruskin Seafood Festival on 3 and 4 Nov runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. It will take place at E.G. Simmons Park and will have grouper sandwiches, crab rolls and lots of other types of delicious seafood for sale! There will also be arts and crafts for sale from local artists. A kid’s area will offer rides, games and other activities. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

The Marine Corps Silent Drill Team will be performing at the Clearwater Veterans Appreciation Day event at Clearwater High School at 2pm on 4 Nov.  The day’s events will include a U.S. Special Operations Command paratrooper jump, high school JROTC drill performances, and various military static displays.
