The MacDill Lanes is a great place for family fun! It is open Mon 11am-5pm, Tue-Thu 11am-8p, Fri 11am-Midnight, Sat 1pm-Midnight and Sun 1-8pm. Game prices are from $1.50 to $1.75 depending on the time, except for Fri & Sat from 8pm-Midnight when the strobe lights and music come on for Extreme Bowling and the price is $2.50 per game. Shoe rentals are always $1.00. There are Weekly Specials during the week and it is a great place to have a Birthday Party for the kids. Of course there is a snack bar serving a variety of snack foods, sandwiches, pizzas and drinks.

Outdoor Recreation at MacDill AFB is offering Canoe and Kayak Training Courses at the Marina starting on 27 Oct. Level 1 Canoe Training starts 27 Oct, Saturday, from 9am to 1pm for $20. Level 1 Kayak Training starts on 28 Oct, Sunday, from 9am to 1pm for $20. Level 2 training is on 3 and 4 Nov for $30 per course. Level 3 training is on 10 and 11 Nov for $40. A fun way to learn the correct and safe way to get around on the Bay!!

Sam Seltzer’s Steakhouse at Brandon Town Center Mall is a great place for lunch or dinner. They have large selection of steaks, chicken and seafood. The desert menu is great especially the Chocolate Explosion! The wait staff is always checking on their tables and the Manager will stop your table to make sure that you have everything you need. The service has always been excellent!

They have 10 locations in Florida including a place near Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

For family friendly Halloween fun, try out the Lowry Park ZooBoo. It gives kids and adults a fun, spooky and safe place to celebrate. It features haunted houses, spooky trails, animal encounters and light displays. You can also enjoy music, free rides and much more!

The remaining dates in Oct are 18-21 and 24-28. Hours are 7pm-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 7pm-10pm onSundays to Thursdays.

Ticket prices are $16 for 12 yrs old and above, $13 from 3 yrs to 11 yrs old and FREE for 2 yrs old and below.

The St Petersburg AirFest will have plenty of live aerial action including a F/A-18 and static displays and a live WWII battle re-enactment. The AirFest is a charity event that raises money for Paralyzed Veterans of America, The Fisher House Foundations, Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Suncoast, and Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg Joan Fortune Campus. It will take place at Albert Whitted Airport in Downtown St Petersburg.

The 19th is the Performer Welcome Party, Meet and greet performers and military personnel from 6pm to 10pm. The 20th and 21st will be the actual AirFest days starting at 10am each day.

Active Duy Military and also children 5 yrs old and below are admitted free. Tickets bought on the day of the show are $15 for adults and $5 for 6-12 yrs old.

Update your computer skills through Giant Campus. The Giant Campus Technology courses offer free technology courses to the Macdill community.

Stop by one of these locations MacDil library, family Resource Center Brandon or the Airmen Leadership School to pick up a cd containing over 250 technology courses. Also at these location you can get more info on the live instructor lead courses.

The Salvador Dali Museum has added three new Dali painting form Spain. The exhibits include “Group of Women Imitating the Gestures of a Schooner,”"The Ascension of St Cecilia,” and ” The Swallow’s Tail”. The paintings will be on display through Jan 20.

The 31st annual Hernando County Rodeo will be held this Friday thru Sunday! The Rodeo includes Team Roping,Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronco Riding and many more events! Food and non-food vendors along with Arts and Crafts will be available.

Live Entertainment will also be on agenda including Jenny Rimmer New Female Vocalist of the year!

The festival is free. The Rodeo performance prices are Children 4-12 $6.00 and Adults $15.00. Purchase tickets in advance at www.ticketweb.com for a discount

The Rodeo is located at the Hernando County Airport, U.S. 41, South of Brooksville.

You can get reasonably priced care for your family’s cats and dogs at the Vet Clinic on MacDill AFB! The clinic provides immunizations, heartworm testing, microchipping and outpatient treatment for some diseases.

The Clinic carries items such as Flea & Tick control , Heart-worm prevention , shampoos, tartar control chews, vitamins, and prescription medications.

Services are by appointment only, so call 828-3558. The clinic is located at 7804 Blackbird St, Bldg 936 , just behind the Exchange Mall.
